Rodrigo Seiji is Victorious in The Grand; 17 PPC Winter Seat Winners

Once again, The Grand saw its guarantee blown out of the water, with 103 players turning out for the $1,050 buy-in affair. Those 103 final phase players fought it out for a slice of the $104,055 prize pool, and it was Brazilian sensation Rodrigo Seiji that helped himself to the lion’s share.

The final table was packed with top poker talent, and each elimination resulted in a sigh of relief from the surviving players. Dimitar Danchev was the first of the finalists to bow out. Danchev’s ninth-place finish came with $3,050.

Swedish high-stakes specialist Simon Mattsson joined Danchev on the rail, doing so with $3,573 in prize money. Then came the exits of Casimir Seire ($4,113), former MILLIONS Online champion Preben Stokkan ($4,772), and British grinder Adam Lowe ($5,836). Fourth place and the final four-figure score went to Francois Billard ($7,686).

Any of the final three players would have made a worthy champion, but the very nature of tournament poker means only one person gets to claim that title. Joel Nystedt busted in third for $10,659, which left Sirichuk heads-up against Artur Martirosian. Seiji got the job done and his hands on $23,495, leaving Martirosian to capture a $15,301 runner-up prize.
