partypoker LIVE Podcast – Jason Koon
A man on a hot streak
Jason Koon is a man on the winning streak of a lifetime. He's won the Triton Super High Roller Series Short Deck Event in Montenegro for over $3 million. He's hoovered up another $2.1m in the Super High Roller Bowl in Las Vegas and already cashed in Event #5 of the World Series of Poker for $372,894. Frankly, we can't quite keep up with the heat of his hot streak. In the past eight weeks, he's cashed for $7.5 million in tournaments alone. He even found time to play the biggest televised cash game pot of all time.
There was only one player to open our partypoker LIVE Podcasts with – the man himself, Jason Koon.

The first episode of our partypoker LIVE Podcasts features the exclusive chat I had with Team partypoker's Koon about his recent adventures and get answers to the questions you might be wondering yourselves. Will he be entering the Big One for One Drop, and if so, exactly how much of his own action do he and his fellow players have? Who is his poker hero? And what is his favourite destination to play poker?
Here's the episode in full:
"I've loved the game since the first hand I've played."
One of Team partypoker's most recent additions, Jason Koon hails from West Virginia. He's a man who is living the moment and playing the game of his life. After ten years of cashing in professional tournaments, he's hovering just below the $20 million mark in tournament results alone. As he has described in more detail, winning a huge cash game pot takes a lot of thought processes. It takes healthy eating, discipline, and sacrifice.
Jason still hopes he can bag the one prize that seems to have escaped him – a coveted WSOP bracelet. He's in Las Vegas right now trying to put that right.
"I had a guy down to one rebuy plaque and I would have had him down to his final 20 big blinds and I remember being so heartbroken, but I'm not drawing dead. I've got the $100k, the $50k, the One Drop and the Main Event. I'm not drawing dead."
To find out if Jason Koon thinks a WSOP bracelet still has the glory of yesteryear, and who his favourite player and all-time hero is, listen to the episode in full above and let us know your thoughts on our Facebook page, via Twitter or on Instagram.
