MILLIONS Online Day 1C: Holz Advances
MILLIONS Online continued to astound on Monday. Day 1C of online poker’s biggest-ever single tournament saw a bumper crowd of 1,112 entrants take to the partypoker felt, which took the total attendance so far to a staggering 3,170- with two starting flights remaining.
Two members of Team partypoker managed to progress to Day 2 of the $20 million guaranteed event, and are now a big step closer to securing the astronomical $2.5 million first-place prize.
Finland’s Joni “JJouhi” Jouhkimainen fared the best of the Team partypoker pros, finishing MILLIONS Online Day 1C with a stack of 16,158,283 chips, enough for sixth-place on Day 1C’s leaderboard.
“I’m really excited to finally make my way through Day 1 after a couple of attempts,” Jouhkimainen told the partypoker blog, “The structure seems to be really good and I’m ready to go all the way for that $2.5 million first place prize.”
Fedor “Fedor_Holz” Holz also punched his Day 2 ticket by finishing MILLIONS Online Day 1C armed with 11,946,929 chips.
The chip leader on MILLIONS Online Day 1C was Colombia’s Carlos “carlitos” Camargo, who finished the night with 19,285,021 chips. Camargo hails from Distrito Especial in Colombia, and has amassed almost $180,000 in online poker tournament winnings at partypoker according to the PocketFives website.
Camargo finished second in the POWERFEST #82-HR: $1M Gtd Championship Event in May 2018 for a career-best $124,821. Could he go one place deeper in this record-breaking tournament?
Several other established pros navigated their way safely through the shark-infested MILLIONS Online Day 1C waters. Russia’s “PhileasFogg” bagged up 13,648,610, Daniel “ROTTsFEARestFC” Charlton of the United Kingdom finished with 9,464,064 chips, and Simon “HellmuthTheGr8” Mattsson ended his flight with 9,192,875 chips.
Joining these stars on Day 2 are the likes of “evianwater1” (8,322,454), Andrey “kroko-dill” Zaichenko (8,067,309), Chris “C12SLY” Sly (6,949,456), Chance “ChanceSeeYou” Kornuth (6,006,067), and Roman “SanityWaterline” Romanovsky (3,404,939).
Two more starting flights are available for the $20 million guaranteed MILLIONS Online event. Players are permitted to play in as many Day 1s as they wish but can only take their largest stack through to Day 2 should they progress more than once. Each flight allows two re-entries. With Day 2 of the $20M guaranteed event coming into view, the prospect of winning a life-changing sum of money is starting to get very real indeed for the remaining players.
YOU could still join them in MILLIONS Online Day 2 by buying-in direct or by playing one of the dozens of Mega Satellites over the next few days. It might just be the best decision you ever make.
