Dan Owston Crowned 2022 WCOAP Main Event Champion
The 2022 Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) World Championship Of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) crowned its Main Event champion this weekend and Dan Owston is that champion. Owston overcame a massive field of 423 entrants to get his hands on £10,000 of the £52,875 prize pool, a famous APAT gold medal plus a commemorative WCOAP bracelet.
Owston also banked a partypoker LIVE package for a future event, giving him a free shot at another bumper payday.

Michal Czeszel was the next to fall; his elimination in seventh place came with a £1,100 payout. The final six then became five when Emiel Sennema crashed out and made his way to the Dusk Till Dawn cashier desk to collect $1,400.
A nice, round £2,000 made its way to the bank account of fifth-place finisher Ryan Kilbey before Adam Keeney (£3,000) and Alu Ayub (£5,000) fell by the wayside and sent the WCOAP Main Event into the heads-up stage.
Owston locked horns with Simao Manuel Gomes heads-up. The final hand saw a short-stacked Gomes move all-in with and Owston make the call with

flop kept Owston in front but gave Gomes a gutshot straight draw. The
turn was then joined by the
