It’s time for the WPT World Online Championships and, once again, it will be hosted by partypoker. The festival will run from Thursday, August 12, 2021, to Tuesday, September 14, 2021 and include 6 Championship events alongside a full side event schedule. With buy-ins ranging from $5.50 to $25,500, and a mix of tournament structures, the schedule caters for all types of No Limit Hold’em and Omaha players.
Kicking off the series will be the Opener and Mini Opener. The Opener offers excellent value, paying a guaranteed $1,000,000 for a buy-in of $215, and there will be plenty of chances to enter, with several starting flights running before the final day on Monday, August 23. The Mini Opener will run on the same dates and will offer a $200,000 guarantee for a $22 buy-in.
Attention will turn to the WPT Main Event on Sunday, August 29, when the $5,000,000 guaranteed, three-day event gets underway. Starting flights will run on three consecutive Sundays and Day 2 will be held on Monday, September 13 followed by final table playing out on the final day of the series, when the champion will be confirmed.
The WPT Main Event winner will be able to enjoy much more than the large cash prize they will win. They will have their name engraved on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup and they will receive a replica of the trophy. They will also be rewarded with a Hublot watch and will gain entry to the WPT Champions Club.
Players can qualify for the WPT Main Event for just a single cent, with centrolls running throughout the day and satellite finals being held every Sunday. The $0.01 buy-in satellites award at least 15 tickets to the $4.40 buy-in Phase 1. Players who make their way through that stage go into the $22 buy-in Phase 2, which is followed by the $109 Phase 3. This leads into the weekly final, where a total of 20 WPT Main Event Day 1A tickets will be claimed.
Keep an eye out for the 50-seat megasats running on the 29th August, 5th September and 12th September. They will follow the same 3-phase structure but players will be able to buy in directly to the Sunday final for $530.
There will also be Mini and Micro versions of the WPT Main Event. Players can buy into the Mini Main Event for $1,050 to play for a $1,000,000 guarantee, while the Micro Main Event guarantees $250,000 for a $109 buy-in.
The WPT Main Event and other key events will be live-streamed on partypokerTV — partypoker’s Twitch channel.
Following the success of the WPT500 and WPT500 knockout series in May, we are hosting both events again as part of the WPT World Online Championships. The WPT500 will run from Sunday 22nd August, and the WPT500 Knockout runs from Tuesday 31st August. Both events will have a $530 buy-in and a huge $1,000,000 guarantee.
Alongside these fantastic events, there’s plenty of side events to choose from. Check out the full schedule here.
